Who this notice is from
JMBromley Software is an independent software development business. This notice covers jmbromleysoftware.com and enquiries sent to [email protected]. Please use that address for privacy questions or requests.
This page also includes the privacy information for the NotedFit Android app below.
NotedFit Android app
NotedFit is a local-first fitness, workout, measurement and nutrition tracker published by JMBromley Software. For app support or privacy questions, email [email protected].
Information you enter
NotedFit can store workout routines, exercise names, sets, reps, loads, timed activities, dates, notes, bodyweight and other measurements, saved foods, ingredients, meals, nutrition values, daily food entries, calorie targets, calculator inputs, deload plans, progression information and app preferences. It also saves unfinished workouts and editor drafts so you can continue later, plus countdown-timer state where needed.
Calorie estimates may use values you choose to enter such as weight, height, age, equation sex, known body-fat percentage, activity factor and calorie adjustment.
Where app records are stored
Your NotedFit records are stored in the app's local storage on your Android device. NotedFit does not require an account and JMBromley Software does not operate a server that receives your workout, measurement or food-log records. NotedFit has no advertising, paid subscription or developer-operated analytics service. The Android app does not request Internet or network-state permission.
Nutrition-label images
If you choose Take photo or Choose image, NotedFit uses the bundled Google ML Kit Latin text recogniser to process the selected image on your device. NotedFit has no image-upload backend. Recognition can be incomplete or wrong, so you review the extracted values before saving them.
A temporary camera file created by NotedFit is removed after recognition or cancellation. A size-limited preview can be held in memory while you review, zoom, crop or retry. The original image you selected is not changed or deleted. Raw images and crops are not stored in food history or included in NotedFit backup files.
Google documents limited ML Kit diagnostics separately, including technical information such as app/device information, SDK versions, image format or size, performance events and errors. NotedFit removes Internet and network-state permissions contributed by dependencies. This policy does not make claims about Android, Google Play services or a file provider outside the NotedFit app process.
Manual backups
You can export a NotedFit backup file through Android's document picker and later restore it. Backup files are not encrypted by NotedFit; anyone who can access a backup file may be able to read its contents. The document provider you choose controls the destination. If you save a backup to a cloud-storage provider, that provider may transfer it to its own servers under its own privacy policy.
NotedFit is configured to exclude its app data from Android-managed automatic cloud backup and device transfer. The optional backup reminder is local to the device, sends no notification and never exports automatically.
Permissions
Camera permission is requested only if you choose to take a label photo. Choosing an existing image uses Android's picker. If you use countdown alerts, NotedFit can request notification permission and can open Android's precise-alarm access settings so a timer can alert more reliably in the background. Alerts may use sound or vibration subject to your Android settings.
NotedFit does not request location, contacts, microphone or broad shared-storage access. It does not collect GPS routes, wearable data or automatic activity-tracking data.
Retention and deletion
Your records remain in local app storage until you delete them, replace them through Restore, clear the app's storage or uninstall NotedFit. Archiving a record keeps it available and is not deletion. Settings includes a confirmed option to delete all local NotedFit data. Deleting app data does not delete backup files you previously exported.
Health and fitness use
NotedFit is a general fitness and wellness tracking tool. Its calorie estimates, weight trends and progression suggestions are estimates and are not medical diagnosis, treatment or professional healthcare advice.
